Rainbow Preschool is a ministry of Oakhurst United Methodist Church and is licensed by the Pinellas County License Board as Nursery School. Rainbow was established in 1983. All of our teachers are professionals and meet all the standard and requirements established by the Licensing Board for Nursery School staff.
We believe that the early years are vitally important to a child's development. It is our goal to implant a deep love for learning in each child that will remain with them always. Children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn. We will nurture these qualities by providing opportunities to learn.
Our program is planned to meet the spiritual, social, physical and intellectual needs of children. Much time and effort, research and experience have all helped to develop a curriculum that meets these needs. A qualified, loving staff, small classes and carfully chosen materials all help to insure that your child's experience at Rainbow will be special.
Our program considers individual differences but also helps each child to be a part of group situations and to learn to accept, respect, be considerate of, and work cooperatively with others. Daily planned activties help to promote the development of small and large motor skills, listening, and language skills and the ability to problem solve. Christian values are integrated into the entire program.
Prayer is part of the children's daily experience. Bible lessons are taught as part of a monthly theme. We strive tohelp the child grow in their knowledge and understanding of God and how much He loves us all. We hope the children will come to know the Lord Jesus, that His is our friend, and the we want to be like Him.
The break from home to preschool should be a wonderful experience. Preschool marks the beginning of a child's first school years to be filled with many happy memories and with solid foundations for further growth.
